Dr, James Young Dies Monday, Services Today
Dr. James William Young of 217 North Cave Spring St. 61, passed away in a local hospital early Monday morning after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. J. B. Hunt, pastor of St. James Episcopal Church, Dr. Hugh L. Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown, officiating. Interment was held in North View Cemetery.
Dr. Young was a veteran of World war I and a member of the First Baptist Church of Savannah Georgia. He served in public health aervice in Savannah for 14 years and in private pratice of denestry in Savannah for 12 years. Dr. Young practiced denestry from Dec. of 1949 until his retirement in 1956 in Cedartown.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the American and Georgia State Dental Societies. He married the former Miss Adah Hiler, Elpaso, Texas in 1923.
Surviving Dr. Young are his wife, one son; James Sterling Young, New York, N. Y., one daughter, Mrs. John Stoeckle, Winchester, Mass., four sisters; Mrs. Gorden Brewster and Mrs. Willie Hand both of Cedartown, Mrs. Charles Banner, Greensboro N.C., Mrs. B.L. Burch, Fort Jackson, S.C.; one brother, R. B. Young, Ashville, N. C.; four grandchildren also survive.
The body will lie in state on the chapel of Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home until the funeral hour.
Pallbears were J. S. Brewster, Johnny T Stowe, Augustine Murphy, Augustine Henderson, Jr., Bruce Lamar Burch, Robert Manley Young. Flowers will please be ommitted, anyone wishing to do so make a contribution to the Food Neighbor Fund in Dr. Youngs memory.
