Personal Property Levy and Sale Exemption Form for J.H. Edwards, 1887

GEORGIA,        TO THE ORDINARY OF SAID COUNTY.
RANDOLPH COUNTY.

     The following is the schedule of property of       J. H. Edwards,        

who is the head of a family consisting of himself, his wife   Mary Edwards, 35 years   

      of age      and    seven    minor children, to wit:     William age 17    

      John age 16,     Henry B. age 14 years,      Washington age 12 years      

      Henrietta age 10 years,     Josephine age 8 years   and    Posey age 5 years     

claimed to be exempt from levy and sale, for the use and benefit of his said wife and

family, under section 2040, of the Code of Georgia and following sections.

 First. Fifty acres of land, to wit:                       

                                      

and five acres additional for each child, to wit:                 

                                      

  Second. One  Red  farm horse or      mule.       Texas named Dolly     value $50.00

  Third. One  Red  cow and calf.   butt head                    $10.00

  Fourth. Ten head of hogs and fifty dollars worth of provisions, to wit:

  Fifth. Fifty bushels of corn, one thousand pounds of fodder, one horse and wagon, one

table, and one set of china, sufficient for the use of the family, and household and

kitchen furniture, not to exceed one hundred and fifty dollars in value.  value $20.00

  Sixth. Bed and bedding and common bedsteads, sufficient for family.     $5.00

  Seventh. One loom, one spinning wheel and two pair of cards and one hundred pounds

of lint cotton.                         value $8.00

  Eighth. Common tools of trade of self or       value $10.00     and wife.

  Ninth. Equipments and arms of a militia soldier and trooper's horse.

  Tenth. Ordinary cooking utensils and table crockery.

  Eleventh. Wearing apparel of himself and family.

  Twelvth. Family Bible, religious works and school books.

  Thirteenth. Family portraits.

  Fourteenth. Library of a professional man in actual practice or business to wit:

                            $300.00

  Fifteenth. One family sewing machine.                Singer value $15.00

Personally appeared         J. H. Edwards              the applicant for

exemption above set out, who on oath says that the same is a true and correct schedule

of his property which is claimed to be exempt to deponent and family, under section

2040, of the Code and following sections, which deponent prays may be recorded as

provided by law.
