Mr. Johnson was the son of Dr. Ben T. Johnson, Sr and Annie Kate Pickett Johnson of Bluffton.

The bride was the daughter of George Washington Torbert and Ida Lenora Bell Torbert of Clay, Co. and teaches school in Clay Co.
