Mr. Rigsby
Lawrence Gordon Rigsby, 61 of Bronwood, died of an apparent heart attack
Friday, November 2, while at his work in Leesburg. Funeral services were held
Sunday afternoon at Harvey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Hule Holloway, pastor of
the Bronwood United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Bronwood
Cemetery.
Mr. Rigsby was a native of Randolph County, but has spent most of his life
in Terrell County. He was born Oct. 23, 1923. His parents are Mrs. Mae Grimes
Rigsby of Cuthbert and the late Clifford Rigsby. A veteran on the U.S. Army in
World War II Mr. Rigsby worked at Dawson Motor Company for 32 years and was
service manager when he left. He worked for Plantation Services in Leesburg at
the time of his death. He was a member of the Bronwood United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his Mother, his wife, Mrs. Nell Worthy Rigsby of
Bronwood, two sons, Lawrence Franklin (Larry) Rigsby of Bronwood and Anthony
Gordon (Tony) Rigsby of Albany; a daughter Mrs. Edward (Trisha) Massey of
Bronwood; six grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Rigsby and WIlton Rigsby of
Cuthbert, a sister Mrs. Annette Jackson of Shellman and several nieces and
nephews.
Pall bearers were Al Nichols, Jack Nichols, Ed McGill, Tom Massey, Tracy
Cook, and Bob Perry.
Honorary pallbearers were Willie Birdsong, Willie E. Leverett, Ed Massey
Jr., John Rigsby, Bob Boney and Bobby Highnote.
