An excellent resource for
genealogical research in Emanuel County is James Dorsey's book
"Footprints Along The Hoopee". It is available for purchase
from Boyd
Publishing Company. It is also available in the East
Georgia College Library.
The assistant editor of The Forest
Blade newspaper, Mitchell
Fagler, tells me: "The Emanuel County Historic
Preservation Society is currently working on a pictorial history of
the county. They only just begun to compile the necessary materials,
however." Notice will be given here when the book becomes
available
