"Bummers" General William T. Sherman's foragers quickly became known as "bummers" as they raided farms and plantations on their March to the Sea.

Sherman and his men cut a path across Georgia burning and destroying everything on his push to the sea.. This was a tremendous loss to genealogists. Coupled with courthouse burnings and natural deterioration.
the old records continue to crumble and are gone like the wind.
We are in a race against time to get the old records recorded for the future generations. We need your help.  While researching take the time to gather a record that will help others and send the records  you have so others may benefit from them as well.  One will, land, deed, pension, marriage at a time and eventually we can have them all online.

I am Margie Daniels a Jasper County researcher and manager for Jasper County.  I am researching Henry Glover who is known to have been in Jasper County in 1839-40 and probably longer.
