Hello,
I am Zaroga Goff and I am in the process of abstracting articles
(clippings) from various newspapers. I'm starting with the ASHBURN
ADVANCE.
If anyone else has clippings of newspapers that they would like posted
at this web site they are most welcome to contact me and I will be glad
to post them.
I cannot make promises on how fast articles will be added.
I am abstracting from copies of newspapers on microfilm. They are
at times very difficult to read. I have done my best to figure out
what some words are through blurs, creases and rips. Occasionally you will
see a notation that I couldn't read something. Most of the spelling and
grammar errors are the writer's mistakes and not this abstractor's....
I'm not perfect... on occasion a typo on my part might happen.
Please use your browser "find" function to find a particular name
on a page. Warning: some of the surnames have
various spellings and misspellings.
Using the search box provided at the bottom of this page in conjunction
with the "find" function is highly recommended. Entering just a surname
will give you better results than entering a given name with the surname.
Many entries use initials instead of given names. Example: John Jacob
Jones would appear J. J. Jones and his wife's name might appear as Mrs.
J. J. Jones.
Some articles appear in several newspaper editions, such as sheriff
sales and other legal notices. I only put the first one to not be
repetitive.
The opinions in articles are not mine. I do not wish to offend
anyone. My goal is to help researchers find their ancestors and to
maybe help them add a story to their family history. Genealogy without
such stories is just names and numbers and not a history.
You may use the articles within this site for your personal use.
I ask that you do not take my hard work and claim it as your own.
If you would like a photo copy of any of the pages just email me.
Click on the gold buttons and enjoy a trip into the past.
