Georgia Census Maps
I will do look-ups in the “1864 Census for Re-organizing the Georgia Militia.”
This is a census required by the Militia re-organization act of December 14,
1863. It was to include all “free white male residents between of the age
of sixteen years, and not over sixty years, except those who shall actually
be in the Army or Navy of the Confederate States, or in the State service.”
This listing was abstracted and compiled by Nancy J. Cornell from microfilm
at the Georgia Department of Archives & History and published in book form
by the Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. of Baltimore, MD.
No lists were
found for the counties of Burke, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Dooly, Emanuel,
Irwin, Johnson, Montgomery, Pulaski or Wilcox.

PATIENCE is of prime importance. I do a lot of lookups and sometimes they
pile up for a month before I take several days off and do nothing but wade
through them all. But they WILL eventually get an answer.
