BILL Family

Jose Maria Bill was captured by Indians when he was a young boy. So young that he would eventually forget his last name , the names of his parents, siblings, and other relatives. He would recall that a younger brother was killed when he resisted captivity. He remained a captive for many years and when he eventually departed he was hired as a guide by the United States military at Fort Davis, Fort Stockton, and Fort Clark, Texas. Quartermaster reports confirm his employment from 1868-1876. I am interested in any material that relates to West Texas , the above forts, and any officer, soldier, or civilian that was stationed or employed by the military. Send information to apbill@vsta.com.
