Matthias DAWSON was born 1775-1780 in VA and captured "as a young boy" while plowing in a field. He was raised by an Indian "Chief" and was released at the Treaty of Greenville (1795). He later purchased the land his Indian father had promised him in Fayette Co. Indiana. Because of the area that he was released in, I believe this may have been Delaware Indians.
