APPLING, DANIEL. This is to certify that Daniel Appling was an inhabitant of
this State prior to the Reduction thereof by the British arms, and was a
refugee from the same, during which time he cheerfully did his duty as a
soldier and friend to this and the United States. 20th day of February,

AYCOCK, RICHARD. On certificate of Elijah Clark, Col., granted 250 acres of
land, 25th day of March, 1784.
AMMONS, WILLIAM. Certificate of Col. Elijah Clark that he served in a
battalion of Minute Men raised for the defense of the State in 1777, though
not at the time an inhabitant of the State, and was in service at the time
said battalion was reduced in March, 1778. Certificate dated 2nd February,
