NEWSPAPER issue of Wednesday, August 26, 1908

Claud Maffett was called to Oglethorpe, Georgia several days ago by the serious illness of his mother. The latter died yesterday morning. The bereaved son is expected home this evening. Mr. Maffett has made many friends since coming to Roanoke, who sympathize with him in his grievous loss.
