Montgomery Weekly Advertiser, March 9, 1886:
 

(Columbus, GA, March 4) Mr. H.S. SPARKS, aged 50 years, and a prominent
cotton dealer of this city, died today.
 

Montgomery Daily Advertiser, March 6, 1886:
 

(Columbus, Georgia, March 6) The remains of Maj. A.M. ALLEN were brought to
this city this morning and are now at the residence of his brother, C.H.
ALLEN. The family accompanied the remains here.  Mrs. Mary E. WORRILL died at
Talbotton, Georgia, today.  She was the widow of the late Judge Ebound H.
WORRILL.

 

Montgomery Daily Advertiser, March 11, 1886:
 
Major A.M. ALLEN, the subject of this notice, was born near Greenville,
Meriwether County, Georgia, on the 26th of October 1823, and on Friday, March 5th,
1866, he died… The church will miss him, for since early manhood he has been a
zealous member of the Methodist Church… (Lengthy article)

January 4, 1890

Mr. F. B. Fisk was called to Thomasville, Georgia, a few days ago by a telegram
announcing the critical illness of his mother, Mrs. L. L. Mosley. A telegram was
received here yesterday morning from Mr. Fisk stating that his mother died
Thursday night?

January 5, 1890

The remains of Mrs. L .J. MOSBY, who died at Thomasville, Georgia, Thursday
night, reached this city yesterday morning attended by two sons and daughter.
They left last night for their summer home at Avon, New York, where the funeral
will take place.
