SHARON — Barb J. Bartlett, 80, of New Sharon died of complications of a stroke
Tuesday Jan. 15, at the home other daughter in Lynnville. Funeral services will
be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon with David
Pinkerton and the Rev. Pete Schuler officiating. Burial will be at Highland
Cemetery in New Sharon. Friends may call after 10
a.m. Thursday at the funeral home where family will be available from 6 to 8
p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the New Sharon Little
League, New Sharon Fire & Rescue, or to Grinnell Regional Hospice. The daughter of
Jake and Neta Evans Terpstra, she was born Dec. 16 in Grinnell. She was raised
and educated in the Grinnell area. On March 22, 1940, she married Jess
Holdsworth near Tracy. She owned and operated taverns/restaurants in Beacon,
Oskaloosa and New Sharon. On Jan. 30, 1982, she married Merlin Bartlett in New
Sharon. She was a member of the
Taintor Community Church.
Survivors include two sons
and daughters-in-law, Ray and Charlotte Holdsworth of Oskaloosa and Dean and
Edna Holdsworth of Chesterfield, Va., a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mert
Van Wyk of Lynnville, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a sister and
brother-in-law Betty and Paul Peterson of Apache Junction, Ariz, a
sister-in-law, Betty Terpstra of Melbourne, and many friends. She was preceded in death by
