Velma L Bowman

COLFAX ~ Velma L. Bowman, 84, of Colfax died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Careage of Newton. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Colfax United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jill Flyr officiating. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.

 Friends may call after noon Friday at the funeral home where family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m.                    

 The daughter of Burtis Wayne and Hazel Claire Pullen Hall, she was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Van Tassel, Wyo. She graduated from Harrison High School in Harrison, Neb. On June 12, 1943, she married Norman Bowman in Kimball, Neb. She has been a resident of Colfax since 1958. Mrs. Bowman worked as a steam presser and dry cleaner in Des Moines and Newton. She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church and enjoyed needlework and quilting.

 Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Terry of Nevada, two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Gary Raulins of Colfax and Bonnie and Chris Mullenax of Kentwood, Miss., five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Gemila Stetson of Lusk, Wyo.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and an infant brother.
