M. Kesl Mikel
M. Kesl, 40, of Kellogg, formerly of Tama, died Thursday, Feb. 21, from injuries
sustained in an automobile accident near Kellogg. Funeral
services will be Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the chapel of the Hand Funeral Home in
Tama at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Dewey Grimes of the Tama Assembly of God
Church officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Friends may
call after noon Monday at the Hand Funeral Home, where the
family will be present from 5-7 p.m. A memorial fund is being established. Mr. Kesl was born Dec. 27,
1961 in Marshalltown, the son of James and Sherry Wilson Kesl. He grew
up in Tama and attended the South Tama County schools. He served In the U.S.
Army Reserves. He had been employed at Kiowa Corp., Tama Pack and Swift &
Co, in Marshalltown and had worked at Maytag Corp. for the past eight years. He
was a member of the American Legion Post #l 11, and the U.A.W. Local #997 in
Newton. He is survived by his
parents; two brothers, Matt of Tama and Staff Sgt. James R. Kesl, Jr. of
Bridgeport, Calif., three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Shelly of Toledo,
Julie and Casey Brazell of Elkader, and Janet and Darin Vorwald of Cedar Rapids
and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
