 Leonard H. Lamb

Leonard H. Lamb, 85, of 211 E. 28th St. S. died of congestive heart failure Tuesday. Oct. 23, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Reese Chapel in Newton with the Rev. Steven Seehorn officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery. Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements. Friends may call Friday after 1 p.m. at the funeral home where family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County.

 The son of Harrison and Nellie Harness Lamb, he was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Malcomb. He attended Malcomb schools. In 1950 he married Avonne Bruce in Newton. They moved from Grinnell to Newton in 1958. He worked in Assembly at the Maytag Company, retiring in 1976. Mr. Lamb was a member of First United Methodist Church and life member of VFW UAW        # 997.

 Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter in-law, David and Dawn of Newton; two grandsons: two brothers, John of Waterloo and Brook of Grinnell; three sisters, Violet Seehorn of Ankeny, Addie Gray of Hemet, Calif., and Joyce Laird of Chandler, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
