A. Livengood Evalee
A. Livengood, 96, of Heritage Manor died of uremic poisoning Sunday, Oct. 28, at
Skiff Medical Center In Newton. Funeral services will be Thursday at
1:30 p.m. at Reese Chapel in Newton with the Rev. David Wendel, pastor of the
United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.
Reese Funeral Home In Newton is handling arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral
home after 1 p.m. Wednesday where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8
p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Alzheimer's Association. The daughter of John and Mary
Russell Collins, she was born Aug. 10, 1905, in Mystic. She attended Mystic
schools. On Dec. 23, 1933, she married Chester Livengood. She was a
self-employed seamstress and moved to Newton from Queen City, Mo. in 1978. Survivors include a son,
Harold Wayne Livengood of Newton; a daughter, Barbara June Gilbert of Rosemount,
Minn.; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her parents, husband, two daughters, two sisters and a brother. Newton
