L. Macy OVERLAND
PARK, Kan. - Juanita L. Macy, 93, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Lynnville,
died Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Alterra Clare Bridge Care Center in Overland
Park, Kan. Funeral
services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lynnville Friends Church with
the Rev. Marvin Miller officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in
Lynnville. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Harden
Funeral Home in New Sharon is handling arrangements. The
daughter of Robert C. and Sarah Jane Ratcliff Holdsworth, she was born July 10,
1908 in Kellogg. She was a graduate of Sully High School and attended Northern
Iowa Teachers College. She lived in Kellogg, Lynnville and New Sharon and had
worked for her father at his grocery store. On July 15, 1929, she married Loring
K. Macy in Lynnville. She and her husband had lived in northern Iowa,
Pottawattamie County and the Ames area. They had also resided in Washington,
D.C., Cincinnati and Philadelphia. Upon retirement, they spent their summers
farming in the Searsboro area and wintered in Arizona and Florida. Mrs.
Macy was a member of the Lynnville Friends Church, P.E.O. and the Little Cabinet
Wives Organization. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, stamp collecting and had
volunteered at hospitals and churches. Survivors
include a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce W. and Betsy of Overland Park, Kan., a
daughter, Miriam Beth Macy Code of Knoxville, Tenn., five grandchildren, nine
great grand children. She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant son, two brothers and
