Eula R. Matheny Eula R. Matheny, 94, of 1683 W. 52nd St. S. died of complications following a broken hip Sunday, Oct. 28, at her daughter's home in Arvada, Colo. Graveside services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe with Robert Anthony of Tahlequah, Okla., officiating. Wallace Family Funeral Home In Newton Is handling arrangements. There will be no visitation. The daughter of
George and Martha Hildebrand Foster, she was born May 8, 1907, In Forest Home.
On Dec. 31, 1944, she married Fred Matheny in Bethany, Mo. She has been a
resident of Jasper County since 1923, living in the Monroe and Newton areas. She
was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Floyd (Donnie) and Darlene Engle of Newton, two daughters and a
son-in-law, Doris Booth of Arvada, Colo., and June and Ken Veverka of Hotchkiss,
Colo., 11 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 14
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two granddaughters, two brothers and a sister Newton Daily News, Newton, IA, November 1, 2001. |
