E. McDonald Eugene
E. McDonald, 75, of 1024 E. 9th St. N. died of respiratory arrest Friday, Nov.
2, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral
services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Reese Chapel in Newton with the Rev.
James Holmes of Des Moines officiating. Burial will be in the Veterans' Section
of Newton Union Cemetery at a later date. Reese Funeral Home in Newton is
handling arrangements. Friends
may call today at .the funeral home where the family will be present from 6 to 8
p.m. Memorials will be accepted In his name. The
son of Elias and Celia Ervin McDonald, he was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Willis
County, Ind. He attended Willis County schools and
served In the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1963 he
married Betty Eilander in Newton. He worked in construction, mostly in the Des
Moines area. Survivors
include his wife, a stepson, Ray Eilander of Newton, two daughters, Pam Ellison
and Teresa McDonald, two sons, Randy Ellison and Michael Ellison, several
grandchildren, two brothers, Glen and Elias, and three sisters, Josephine Stipp,
Deci Lafferty and Wilma Brickley. He was preceded in
