 Mary A. Morris

Mary A. Morris, 88, of 1301 W. 6th St. S. died from complications of surgery Monday, Nov. 26, at USA Health Care In Newton. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Reese Chapel in Newton with Cheri Doane of Center Friends Church officiating. Burial will be at Center Friends Cemetery in rural Newton. Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Perpetual Care Fund of Center Friends Cemetery.

 The daughter of J. Earle and Ora North Tool, she was born Feb. 5, 1913,in Monroe. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1930 and attended Penn College in Oskaloosa. On Oct. 17, 1932, she married Merlyn Morris in Bethany, Mo.

 Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and had farmed with her husband for many years near Kellogg. She was a member of the Center Friends Church.

 Survivors include two sons, Marvin of Newton and Melvin of Port Hadlock, Wash., three daughters, Marilyn Hansen and Marcia Ebert, both of Kellogg, and Marvel Johnson of Bremmerton, Wash., 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a sister, Margaret Dawson of Newton.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, and two brothers.
