Blanche Myers

COLFAX — Blanche Myers, 87, of Colfax died of cancer Saturday, Oct. 27, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax with the Rev. Phil Cardenzana officiating. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements. Friends may call today at the church where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to Colfax Senior Citizens.

 The daughter of Chauncy W. and Mary Kathryn Murray Cory, she was born July 2, 1914, in Elkhart. She graduated from Elkhart High School. On Jan. 23, 1943, she married Lewis J. Myers in Elkhart. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Colfax Senior Citizens, and served on the Colfax Election Board. She worked as a cook at Nickerson Farms Restaurant and at the Senior Citizens Center.

 Survivors Include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Carol and John and Pat, all of Mingo; two daughters and sons-in-taw, Patricia and Ronald Schneider of Lacona and Mary and Mike Holmes of Prairie City; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ira Cory of Ankeny.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.
