Don Edwin Nickelson MONROE
— Don Edwin Nickelson, 64, of Monroe died Monday, Nov. 19, at Skiff Medical
Center in Newton. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Monroe
Untied Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Koughn officiating. Burial will be
at Cocheran Cemetery in Lacona. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is
handling arrangements. Friends may call today after 4 p.m. at the funeral home
where family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to
the Monroe Emergency Unit. The
son of Joseph Floyd and Amy Irene Lancaster Nickelson, he was born Dec. 16,
1936, in Knoxville. He moved from Des Moines to Monroe in 1988 and worked at
Grandma's Kitchen and Maid Rite in Monroe. Survivors
include a brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Barb Nickelson of Monroe. He was
