 Robert L Ratcliff

 Robert L. "Bob" Ratcliff, 50, of 821 S. 13th Ave. E. died of cancer Saturday, Sept. 29, at Skiff Medical Center In Newton. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Lynnville Friends Church In Lynnville with Pastor Marvin Miller officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery. Wallace Family Funeral Home In Newton is handling arrangements. Friends may call today at the church where family will be available from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials wilt be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County.

 The son of Roy R. Ratcliff and Lois J. Brand, he was born April 24, 1951, in Newton. He was a graduate of Newton Senior High School in 1969 and a graduate of Marshalltown Community College. He grew up In the Newton and Killduff areas. He served In the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. On May 5, 1973, he married Thelma J. "T. J." Kimberlin, in Newton. He lived In Europe from 1973 to 1976 and later lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, Pleasantville, Belmond, and Lynnville. Mr. Ratcliff worked for Axtell Ford & Chrysler in the financing and human resources department. He was a member of the Newton Optimist Club and the First United Methodist Church In Newton.

 Survivors include his wife; a son, Tyler of Newton: three daughters, Jennifer of Oskaloosa and Heather and Amy, both of Newton; his father, Roy Ratcliff of Ocala, Fla.; his mother and step-father, Lois and Charles R. Harrington of Newton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Wanda of Newton and Scott and Patsy of Sully; and a sister, Angle Nichol of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents,
