Emma R. Scott

PRAIRIE CITY - Emma R. Scott, 86, of Prairie City died Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Waveland Cemetery In Prairie City with Chaplain Merle Smith officiating. Visitation will be held today after 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City where family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County will be accepted.

 The daughter of Roy and Anna Morrison Burnside, she was born June 21, 1915, In Gravity. She married Frank "Bus" Cade in 1931, in New Market and later, married Ober K. Scott Aug. 26, 1950, in Platte City, Mo.

 Mrs. Scott was a longtime resident of Oskaloosa before moving to Newton and settling in Prairie City for the past 10 years. She was employed as a clerk at the Easters Store in Newton and later worked as a bookkeeper for the F&S Trucking Co. in Oskaloosa. She was a member of the OES club.

 Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Shirley Cade of Prairie City; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grand children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son-in-law, a brother and a sister.
