E. Kelly Tratchel Anne E. Kelly Tratchel, 82,
of 410 N, 4th Ave. E. died of heart failure Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Skiff Medical
Center in Newton. A Vigil Service
will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Father
Phil Cardenzana, pastoral vicar of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.
Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. Wallace Family Funeral Home
in Newton is handling arrangements. Friends may call
Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m, at the funeral home and from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church. Family will greet friends immediately following the Vigil
Service in the McCann Center of the church. Memorials will be accepted to
Progress Industries, Courthouse Christmas Lighting fund, Sacred Hearth Catholic
Church or to the donor's choice and may be left at the funeral home.
The daughter of James J. and
Ethel L. Echles Kelly, she was born Nov. 12, 1919, in Newton. She was a 1937
Newton Senior High School graduate and also a graduate of the Iowa School of
Beauty in Des Moines. On Oct. 27, 1938, she married Donald V. Tratchel in
Newton. She was a homemaker and had owned and operated a beauty shop from 1940
to 1946. Mrs. Tratchel was a member of .the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, past
4-H leader and was a Judge at the Jasper County Fair for years. She enjoyed
baking, cooking and sewing. Survivors include her
husband; two daughters, Patricia Anne Tratchel and Donna Vee DeLong both of
Newton, three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
