 Tammy Jean Van Wyk

PELLA — Tammy Jean Van Wyk, 41, of Pella, died of cancer Friday, Oct. 19, at her home. Funeral services were held Monday at the Third Reformed Church in Pella with the Rev. Kevin Korver and the Rev. Drew Schmidt officiating. Burial was at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe with the Rev. John Van Den Berg officiating. Garden Chapel Funeral Homes in Pella handled arrangements. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Pella.

 The daughter of Larry A. and Marceda "Marcy" Dammeier Romick, she was born Jan. 7, 1960, in Newton. She grew up In Monroe and was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church. She graduated from Monroe High School and the Americana Academy of Beauty. On March 23, 1979, she married Marvin R. Van Wyk in Monroe. They lived in rural Otley and were members of the Otley Reformed Church. In 1995 they moved to Pella. Mrs. Van Wyk was a member of the Third Reformed Church, teaching Sunday School and a cell group. She also was active with the Jefferson Parent Teachers Organization in Pella. She worked at the Red Lollipop for many years and worked as a sales clerk at Lee's Hallmark Shop in Pella for more than five years. She spent many hours Involved with church and school activities.

 Survivors Include her husband, two sons, Nathan and Zachary of Pella; a daughter, Jenna of Pella, her parents of Monroe, mother-in-law, Tunnet Van Wyk of Otley, grandmother, Marie Romick of Prairie City; a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Katrina Romick of Monroe, and three nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father-in-law.
