Forrest
'Fosty' Wilcox TUCSON,
Ariz. - Forrest "Frosty" Wilcox, 70, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of
Newton, died of complications from a previous heart surgery, June 20, at
Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. A memorial service will be held
Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Newton, followed by a
fellowship brunch with family at the church. A private burial of cremains will
be held at a later time. The
son of Willis and Myrtle Wilcox, he was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Newton. He
attended Newton schools and graduated from high school in 1949. He married
Gloria Zitelman Oct. 18, 1969, at the Little Brown Church In Nashua. A
resident of Iowa, Minnesota, Colorado, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Mexico and
Arizona, Mr. Wilcox worked for 27 years as a representative, distributor and
design consultant for park and recreation equipment companies, He also owned an
Independent insurance agency before retiring in 1971.
Mr.
Wilcox was a member of the American Legion Post No. 73 in Tucson, Ariz., a board
member and fund chairman for the American Cancer Society, and he started the
first Drug Awareness program in Green Valley, Ariz„ while serving as an Elks
Lodge officer. He was coordinator for the Miss Arizona Scholarship Foundation
and a member of the National Parks and Recreation Association, as well as
several other local parks and recreation groups. He enjoyed traveling and was a
veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean
Conflict. Survivors
include his wife; a daughter, LeAnn Wilcox of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters
and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Paul Spencer and Judy and Marlow Good, all of
Newton; and a sister-in-law,
Tina Wilcox of Santa of Springs, Calif. He
