Arlo W. Worth

 GRINNELL ~ Arlo W. "Bud" Worth, 91, of Grinnell, formerly of Monroe, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at St. Francis Manor In Grinnell. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe with the Rev. Del Dawes, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating. Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell is handling arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Arlo W. Worth Memorial Fund.   

The son of George and Dottie Fay Waring Worth, he was born Sept. 27, 1910, in Monroe. He was raised in Monroe and was a 1929 graduate of Monroe High School. On Sept. 20, 1935, he married Ruth M. North in Red Oak. They lived in Pella and Indianola prior to moving to Grinnell in 1940.  

Mr. Worth was employed as a shop foreman by Grinnell Implement Store until his retirement in 1988. He had been a resident of St. Francis Manor since 1999. He was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.  

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Boliver of Wichita, Kan., a granddaughter, a brother, Blake Worth of Grinnell and two sisters, Coreen Illian of Grinnell and Aldean Carter of Hiawatha.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters.
