Guy B. Emmack Dies at Home
Guy B. Emmack, 73, a resident of Jasper county for the
past 70 years, died this morning at his home 8 miles
southwest of Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
Newton Methodist church. The Rev. Allan K. Williams, pastor
of the church, will officiate.
Mr. Emmack is survived by his wife, a son, Lyle of Newton;
three daughters, Mrs. Zelma Williams of Newton, Mrs. Elva
Bell of Newton and Mrs. Oletha Runyan of Monroe; and 10
grandchildren.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emmack, he was born Nov 21,
1881 in Mercer county, Ill. He came to Jasper county with
his parents at the age of three.
Mr. Emmack received his education in Jasper county schools
and after his marriage to Myra Brock, in February, 1903, he
moved to the farm southwest of Newton where he has resided
for the past 52 years.

Myra T. Emmack Dies Wednesday Rites Saturday
Mrs. Guy B. (Myra T.) Emmack, 88, of Nelson Manor, a
resident of Newton since 1963 and longtime resident of the
Metz community, died Wednesday afternoon at the Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the
First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Harold Harryman, associate pastor of the church,
will conduct the services. Burial will be in Sugar Grove
Cemetery.
Friends may call at Johnson Funeral Home after 10 a.m.
Friday. Memorial contributions to the First United Methodist
Church will be accepted.
Survivors are a son, Lyle of Newton; three daughters, Mrs.
Oleta Runyan of Monroe and Mrs. John (Elva) Bell and Mrs.
Zelma Williams, both of Newton; 10 grandchildren; 20
great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mrs. W. H. parsons of
Fort Dodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1955
and a brother.
Mrs. Emmack was a member of the First United Methodist
Church and the Women's Society of Christian Service of the
church.
The daughter of William and Clara Miller Brock, she was born
Dec. 1, 1882, southwest of Newton near Metz. She was married
to Guy B. Emmack Feb. 25, 1903 at her parents' home near

Elmer Clayton Emmack
Elmer Clayton Emmack, son of Charles and Effie Love
Emmack was born in Mercer County, Ill., November 10, 1879
and departed this life September 16, 1950 at the age of 70
years, 10 months and 6 days.
He came to Jasper County with his parents at the age of 5
years and settled in Sherman township where he grew to
manhood. He received his education in the rural schools.
At the age of 14 years he joined the United Brethren church
and latter in life became a member of the Metz Baptist
church. He was a sincere Christian and held the office of
secretary and treasurer of the Sugar Grove Cemetery for over
25 years .
On September 28, 1898, he was united in marriage to Georgia
Miller and settled on a farm at Metz where he resided until
the time of his death. To this union were born six
children.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one
son, Myron, who died at the age of 2 years.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, three sons, Dale
of Prairie City, Donovan and Delmar and two daughters, Mrs.
Glen (Leora) Blackledge and Mrs. Richard (Maxine) Sille all
in the vicinity of Newton. One brother Guy of Monroe,
thirteen grandchildren and other relatives and a host of
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Emmack celebrated their Golden Wedding
Anniversary Sept. 28, 1948. Mr. Emmack was a fond and loving
husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his family
and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First Lutheran
church in Newton with burial at Sugar Grove Cemetery. ~

Mrs. Elmer Emmack Dies This Morning.
Mrs. Elmer (Georgiana Winifred) Emmack, 87, of Rt 2,
Newton, died at 12:35 a.m. today at the Skiff Memorial
Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday
at Johnson Chapel. Burial will be in the Sugar Grove
Cemetery.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Maxine) Sille of
Newton and Mrs. Alfred (Lenora) Schultz of Newton and Delmar
of Colfax; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her husband in 1959, two sons, Dale
and Myron; and her parents.
The daughter of George W. and Emily Helphrey Miller, she was
born Aug 30, 1879 in Jasper County. Mrs. Emmack was a member
of the Helping Hand Club and the Metz Church. ~ Newton Daily

Mrs. Elmer Emmack Services Conducted
Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer (Georgiana Winifred)
Emmack, 87, of Rt 2, Newton, were held this afternoon at the
Johnson Chapel. The Rev. Edwin Frohardt, minister of the
First Methodist Church, and the Rev. Richard L. Scott,
associate minister of the First Methodist Church, conducted
the services. Burial was in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Leland Clement and Mrs. Leo Lane, the singers, were
accompanied on the organ by Mrs. R.L. Jackson. pallbearers
were Phil Lane, Gail Engle, Carl Clement, George Dammeier,
Theo. Matheny, and George Selbher. Mrs. George Dammeier,
Mrs. Peary Hoyt and Mrs. John Rorabaugh were members of the
flower committee.
Mrs. Emmack died Monday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital. ~
