Obituary of Leonard Prindle
Leonard Lee Prindle, 78, of Carlisle died of Alzheimer's
disease Thursday at Carlisle Care Center. Services will be
at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brean Assembly of God Church in
Pleasant Hill, at which he was a member. Burial will be at
Sugar Grove Cemetery in Newton.
Mr. Prindle was born in Iona, Ark., and had lived in
Mitchellville as a youth. He had lived in Des Moines most
of his life before moving to Carlisle five years ago. He
was a retired tire builder with Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co.
in Des Moines and a member of the local United Rubber
Workers union. He enjoyed playing miniature golf and
bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Mae, two daughters, Vicky
Diltz of San Diego and Karen Cory of Des Moines; a son,
Dennis of Des Moines; a half sister, Virginia Lloyd of San
Benito, Texas, five grandchildren and a
great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday
at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Memorial
contributions may be made to his church. ~ Des Moines

Elveretta Prindle, Des Moines - Elveretta M. Walker
Prindle, 58, of 2219 Searle St., Des Moines, a former
resident of the Newton area, died Wednesday, April 29, at
the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines of a brain
tumor.
Funeral services for Mrs. Prindle, who had been ill since
July, 1986, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Brean
Assembly of God in Des Moines.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery near Newton. Friends
may call at the Hamilton Funeral Home In Des Moines after 6
p.m. today.
Survivors are her husband, Leonard; a son, Dennis of Des
Moines; two daughters, Karen Dyer of Des Moines and Vicky
Dilts of San Diego, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Hubert Walker of Des Moines
and Glen Walker of Altoona; and three sisters, Juanita
Shoemake, Aletta Woody and Grace Dammeier, all of
Newton.
The daughter of Murray and Mae Walkers, she was born Sept
26, 1928 in Jasper County. An employee of Saga Food Services
in Des Moines, she had resided in Des Moines since 1953. She
was a member of the Brean Assembly of God in Des Moines. ~
