Three sets of maternal grandparents of Fred Maytag II are buried at Sugar Grove Cemetery. His mother was Ora Blanch Kennedy; his maternal grandparents were George "Sim" and Mary (Veach) Kennedy; great-grandparents were Samuel and Maria (Parks) Veach and his great-great-grand parents were James and Jane (Butler) Parks. All but his mother are buried at Sugar Grove.
After her mother's death in 1885, 2-year old Ora and her 5-year old sister Maud lived with the Veach grandparents. She and Maud lived in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, for a couple of years before Ora married Elmer Maytag, son of Frederick Maytag and Dena Bergman, in 1910.
