BLODGETT CEMETERY

LOCATION: S E 1/4 of Sec. 31, T 86 R 6 W. Jackson Twp, Linn Co, IA

Name: Blodgett family came to the area as early as 1854 and owned the land where the cemetery is located. It may have been called 'Melrose cemetery" first. It is believed when Mr. Blodgett was in the Civil War, one of his children died. They buried the child on their farm land. When the father came home, he gave the land to be a cemetery for this area.
