Ellison Family information Submitted by, gayle williams John Ellison-m- Rachel Curtis 7-3-1851 by man named A.J. McKean who was a AP Land Records of 1859 shows he paid taxes on two parcels of land that were Sec 25 Twp 83 Range 5 and Sec 23 Twp 84 Range 6 (won't mind finding out if anyone still lives there?) John died 17 Aug 1899 Age 74 buried in Mt Vernon Cemetery MT Vernon IA Linn Co. Nothing on Rachel yet! John and Rachel had nine kids (my g-g-g-g-grandparents - -m- Rachel Curtis 7-3-1851 both born in Ireland!) Charles H. DOB 1856-1857 male (census in 1880 made him unmarried and 23) (my g-g-g grandfather) dod 12-12-1900 only 44! Note he died shortly after his father John Ellison who died 1899. Won't mind seeing that obit as well! His siblings: Joseph " 1859 (1920 census has him 62 in Bertan IA) Hulda " 1861 female Minta " 1863 female Nancy " 1865 female Lena " 1868 female John Jr. " 1871 male Clara " 1873 female Burtie : 1877 female Charles H. Ellison -m- Melissa Elma Boone 09-09-1881 in Anamosa Township; (looked here but not hard enough I guess) Melissa died in childbirth having my g-grandmother on or about 10-19-1882 (can't find her obit) Two months later Charles married Melissa's sister Jane Boone on 12-31-1882 In Martelle Township;can't find it anywhere] (jane and melissa were born in Jones County IA to a Sanford Boone-yet to find them there) five years later they began their family as follows also in Linn County IA; Nollie CanDaisy Ellison (real mother Melissa Elma Boone )dob 10-19-1882 (my g-grandmother) Daniel Ellison dob 1887 (named after a relative of Daniel Boone) Leoma Ellison dob 1888 Rachel Ellison dob 1891 (named after her g-grandmother) two more children not on 1895 census Lucretia Ellison no dob yet Martha Ellison no dob yet
