Lawrence Christopher Hanson, a farmer residing in Clinton township, Linn County, died at his home at 4 a.m. today following an illness of three weeks. He was born Sept. 3, 1843, in Denmark, coming to this country at the age of 19. He lived in Clinton Township for 30 years. Besides his wife he survived by four daughters: Mrs. A.J. Kemper and Mrs. Robert Smith, both of this city; Mrs. George Usher of Nashua; Mrs. Carl Rawson of Palo, and six sons; William C., Harry E., George F., Leon C., and Louis C. All of Cedar Rapids, and Walter C. of Palo. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Henry Werner of Louisa, besides thirty-three grandchildren. He would have been married 50 years on May 24. Funeral announcements will be made later.

Christopher Hanson, 76, for 59 years a resident of Cedar Rapids, died at his home, 907 B Ave NW, at 9:20 P.M. Sunday after a long illness. He was born in Denmark, Feb 14, 1864 and came directly to Cedar Rapids on his arrival in America. For 27 years he was employed as a stationary engineer by the Cedar Rapids Sash and Door Company. He was a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge No 141 and Ben Hur Lodge No.12. In addition to his wife Maryette, he is survived by three children, Fred L., George A., and Mrs. Alice Fair, and four grandchildren, all of Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held in the Beatty chapel at 2 P.M. Wednesday conducted by the Rev. Henry Scherer and the Odd Fellows. Burial will be in the family lot in Linwood. By a Granddaughter:
Harry, second child of Laurence C. and Mary M. Hoeck Hanson, was born on a farm in Benton County, moved to Linn County at the age of 19 with his parents. He was married to Myrle E. Rawson, the seventh child of Joseph L. and Eva Rogers Rawson on Apr 4, 1907. Myrle was baptized in the Lewis Bottoms Church, joining the Baptist faith, later she affiliated with the Evangelical church of Covington, of which she had long been a member.
Her and Harry lived near Palo in the early years of their marriage, where several of their children were born. Moving later years on the farm on Vinton Rd. where they lived at the time of her death. She died at the home of her sisters Mabel and Carrie Rawson.
To this union were born seven children, the first born died at 8 months of age, choked to death from bleeding in her throat, seemed as though red splotches appeared on her skin, did not know the cause of it.
They are buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, near Palo.

Mrs. Emma Elvina Rawson, wife of Carl Rawson, died at the family residence, three miles northwest of Cedar Rapids, at 1:15 A.M. Monday. Death followed a prolonged illness. Born May 2, 1886, two miles south west of this city, she had been a lifelong resident of Linn County. She was the daughter of Lawrence C. and Mary Hanson, pioneer residents of Linn County. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Coonrod of Palo; and five sons, Leslie of Palo; Lee, Joseph, Dale and Virgil, all at home. One son and one daughter preceded her in death. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Laura Kemper and Mrs. Lillie Smith both of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Violet Usher of Nashua, IA: six brothers, William, Harry, George, Walter, Leon and Lewis Hanson, all of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Jimmy, Beverly and Orlie Rawson and Duane and Donald Coonrod. She was a member of the Covington Evangelical church.
Funeral services will be held in the Turner Chapel at 2 P.M. Wednesday. Burial will be made in Spring Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the Turner chapel.

Walter, seventh child of Laurence C. and Mary H. Hoeck Hanson, was born in Benton County. Lived on a farm all his life, attended school at Stony Point, on Vinton Rd. He operated the East Lawn Dairy for twenty years, also hauled milk from farmers by horse and wagon. At one time worked at Bindlers Dairy, part time at a gas station, that his son Edwin operated, and was there at the time of his death.
Walter was married to Edith Rawson, youngest child of Edward and Eva Rogers Rawson, on September 6, 1915 at Waterloo, Iowa. Edith also attended Stony Point school, Taylor and graduated from Washington High, and then attended Coe Business College. She was born in the town of Palo, and then moved with her parents to the farm on Vinton Rd. known as the Rawson farm. At one time took a trek to Alpina, South Dakota in a covered wagon as a child, returning to Iowa a year later. She belonged to the Covington Ladies Aide for many years, and both were members of the Covington Church.
They lived at one time on the farm that is now known as Morgans Creek Park, Rawson farm on Vinton Rd and then to Palo, finally settled on a small farm next to Covington Church. To this union was born five children.
