Cedar Rapids Boy Wins Bank Honors

Robert J. Harrison Elected Cashier of Institution at Mitchell, South Dakota

Robert J. Harrison, formerly of this city and the son of W. H. Harrison of Marion has been elected cashier of the First National Bank of Mitchell, S.D. The First National is one of the leading banks of Mitchell with a capital of $100,000.00 and resources amounting to nearly $1,000.000.

Mr. Harrison left Cedar Rapids five years ago and went to Lane, S.D. as cashier of the Citizens State Bank, was later elected President, which position he still maintains.

The following is an article taken from the Mitchell Daily Republican:
"Louis J. Welch, vice president, Friday evening in the annual business meeting was named as president of the First National Bank, succeeding O.R. Branson. Robert J. Harrison of Lane, President of the Citizens State Bank of that place was elected as cashier, succeeding Ray L. Branson.

"Mr. Harrison, the new cashier, came to Lane from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He started at Lane as cashier of the bank and gradually worked his way to the presidency. He is now serving in the State Legislature at Pierre as the Representative of Jerauld County where he is serving as Chairman of the Committee on Banks and Banking during his second term in the House. He will move with his family to Mitchell as soon as the Legislature adjourns and his legislative duties are completed."
