From the "Standard" we learn that a very sad accident occurred in the family of Mr. Wm. Newman, of Toddville. As near as we can learn; it happened under the following circumstances: Mrs Newman left the house to go to the spring for a pail of water and left in the house her little daughter, aged about six years. soon after reaching the spring, and while in in the act of dipping up the water, the mother heard her daughter shriek as if in intense agony, and upon starting for the house was met by the little one, who was wraped in a sheet of flame. It seems that in some unaccountable manner the child had caught fire, and ran outdoors , thereby only fanning the flame. She was burned terribly and now lives in critical condition no hopes of her recovery being entertained.
