They were copied from the Mount Vernon Hawkeye Newspaper.
James Madison Camp was one of the signers of the letter to the Iowa Gov. requesting that Mt. Vernon be incorporated. He and his sons had a wagon and carriage shop. The eventually moved to Lincoln, NE. Mary Guiberson (Giberson) Camp was his wife. She died in Mt. Vernon. Mary Camp Bronson married James A. Bronson who was the founder of Wyoming, Jones Co, Iowa. All three are buried in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery along with other family members.
