James Riley and Rebecah (Embree) Perdue family.

James and Rebecah are in the middle holding a picture of their son Arthur Theodore Perdue, who died in the Ciil War. Next to Rebecah is their daughter, Jesse Franklin Perdue. In the bottom left corner is David Vinton Perdue. The others in the picture are James Edward, Henry Malen, Joseph Vantyle, John Miller, William Edgar, and Frank Wooden. My great grandmother Dorothy(Perdue) Walker has the original.

James was born in Indiana. The Perdue's moved to Warren County then Henderson County. James' father Edward died in Warren County. His mother Lydia Goodman died when he was little in Vincennes, Indiana. James and Rebecah moved to Silver Creek, Mills,Iowa about 1870 where they died and are buried. Some of their children returned to Henderson County. David Vinton Perdue married there in 1892 to Lydia Charlotte Burrell. They had four children Chalmer, Leslie, Veda, and Anna. David Vinton Perdue died in 1898.
