This is a photo of John Henry Reed as a young man. He was the son of John H. and Charity Webb Reed, who settled in Henderson Co. in the 1840's.
John as a slightly older man.
My maternal grandmother, Marion Reed Hurt (whose mother was Ora Unckles Reed), told me that there was once a "town" called Reed's Post Office, named after our family. From her description, it was little more than a post office, grocery store, and Reed Church. Although the church is gone, the Reed Cemetery which was once related to the church still remains.
