YEAR 2000 QUERIES, JACKSON CO. IL.

1. PILES  I'm looking for any information on the Nicholas PILES family that appears in the Jackson Co., IL, 1820 census. I believe that one of his descendants, John J. PILES, traveled to Texas, settling in Van
Zandt County, with a descendant of Ezekiel TUMLINSON, probably David TUMLINSON. They were both deeded 640 acres of land, in the 1845. The PILES deed was witnessed by Claiborne & Edmund
ARRINGTON (HARRINGTON); a name also listed in the 1820 Jackson Co., IL census. Any info on any of this band of travelers  would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Karen Mills Van Zandt County, Texas  1/4/2000

2GOODMAN  I am searching for information on a Charles Goodman, son of Amos and Anna Goodman, of Ava. Charles was a photographer who left Jackson County ca. 1871 at the age of 28 years, and after a few years in Wisconsin spent his remaining years in Colorado and Utah. His siblings were Enos, Alzina and William. They were all born in New York. The first known trace of their family in Ava was 1861. Any information on their family or any of his papers, diaries, or photographs would be appreciated.
