Thanks for offering your resources. I am searching for information on my great-grandfather and his parents. I could not find anything with the links you had. 

My great-grandfather was George F. Young born in Galesburg, Knox, Illinois July 4, 1858 according to his death certificate. His father’s name was listed as James Young from Manchester, England.  Mother was unknown by the recorder – although rumor has it is was Margaret. 

I do not know if they lived there for a short or long time. 

Any information you have on my great-grandfather or his parents would be appreciated. I requested information from the Knox County Clerk in Galesburg but they said there was no record, and that birth certificates were not started until 1878.
