For Keith to know where the old
Horace Sage place is located at.
This is looking over towards the
Oneida Cemetery which would be Northerly.
The barn you see on the right
upper
left is of the second farm when
you turn on the road. just before the cemetery.
This is standing at the cemetery
looking south but not at the house. the red equipment is just on the
west side of the house. Post Road used to go out that way. but
as you can see it's a field now.
Standing at Cemetery & looking back down Post Road towards the
Two other farm houses.
This is the cemetery looking
straight west and standing near Post Road. Just before you get to
the house which sits on the right or west side of road.
Main House is one the south and
the carriage house is on the north with the breeze way in between. I
was standing on Post Road when I took this just outside my car door
because I was getting cold.
All Photos beyond this point are

You can see house on right and cemetery on left. the little

Standing on the west side of
the cemetery and looking at the house. This would of been the
carriage house.
Standing south of cemetery looking

corner. sun blocking view in finder.
Just before the Dayton ends.

Corner of 1440 and 2400N

above three photos just wanted to make sure they all turned out as
I'm pressed for time this morning. 2400JN is in Sparta Twp or
the township line Road.
Keith, will do the map comparisons and show you
and such. It's not that far from Oneida and also. the road
actually runs north and south as you can see from the photos and
from every map I have and I've seen the road is not running
correctly. Makes this harder than it should be and the road is
closed and doesn't go through anymore.
This is the county map and Post Road should
actually run North and south but it doesn't. But where the
green circle is where the house is. will make better
later.
Map of Oneida going to Sage
Cemetery and Horace Sage's Homestead.
The below photos were taken
March 22, 2006 when the stupid sun was going down and it's in the
way. Plus, was in a hurry. After Six o'clock already, picking
up Kate from Track practice.
from Joy Street Teleview. Need
to redo this photo sun shining too much on it.
Distant shot from Joy Street
leaving Oneida.
Too much sun makes
it kind of a little blurry. but was the best out of three
shots.
Hired Hands house with the barn
that used to sit at Horace Sage Homstead.
Now as Kate & go down 2400N we
come to corner of 1240E we turn left and go right then I stop
directly across from the house. this is a distant shot but the Sun
in the way. as you can see. Too much sun.
Best of the telephoto shots
from 1240E Road. It's a gravel road. and goes clear through to
IL state route #34 that runs between Oneida and Altona. We are
not in Walnut Grove Twp.
