Private Edward Woodward arrived in Bradford Monday, much to the surprise of his relatives and friends, getting a 10 day furlough from camp. It has been 13 months since Ed left Bradford and this is his first visit home. Most of his time being spent in Texas at Ft. Worth, Camp Bowie. During his stay there he had been at work in the base hospital most of the time. Just now, though he has an easy time of it. He is at division heard quarters and is a motorcycle orderly.

John B. Woodward for several years R.R. Agent and operator at New Canton, Ill is now here with his family on a visit. John has been suffering from malaial troubles for some months and so asked for a transfer and has been assigned to the station at West Point this state, and after a short rest and visit here will take up his duties at the latter place.

first airplane ride, Tuesday afternoon, Mr Clarence Rinkenberger took him up
(June 21, 1950).

Mr and Mrs Walter Woodward are the proud parents of a son born to them Friday evening. This is their third child and third son. The baby has been named Charles Edward. Wed (June 10, 1942.)

of town fell on the side walk here, and as a result she has not been
able to use one of her arms since then.

Mrs and Mrs Walter Woodward attended the funeral of the formers
grandmother Mrs. Mary Woodward Sunday afternoon in Henry. She was 84 yrs
old and 10 months.

Chet Woodward wife and daughter both died on Thurday Evening the 2nd
insadent of Typhoid Fever. They had been sick for some time, first with
diphtheria, then with lung fever and finally with typhoid fever. His
daughter was about 18 years old Perhaps some people may call this a
dispensation of Providence, intened to remind Chet of his many sins and
short comings but he probably will not look upon his troubles in that
light.

Chet Woodward burried his wife and daughter a week ago last Sunday. Last
Sunday he burried a boy, and two more are beyond hope of recovery and
now Chet himself is sick.
