Hope Cemetery is located  in the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of Section 36 in Kelly Twp.  To get to the cemetery, you take IL State Rt 150 going north out of Galesburg, IL, Turn left at Carl Sandburg Road, go out into the country past Carl Sandburg College, Keep going until you hit a stop sign.  The Hope Cemetery will be on your right hand side.  It is well maintained cemetery with a lot of my ancestor residing here.  I have made some special notes on this page concerning them and other residents of the cemetery.  Also, I have pictures of most of the Tombstones in the Cemetery and if you would like one please email me and will see that you receive a copy of your ancestors resting place.  Will later post pictures here when I get more acquainted with the use of my new program in which I'm now doing my web=pages in.

Take notice that I have boldly put our men who served their country in bold and darker type than the other members of this cemetery.  I bought a copied the listing of people buried here at the Galesburg Library in Galesburg, IL, and paid 10 cents a page.

Thanks for your kind patience.  The land was deeded to the Hope Cemetery Association in May 1873, but was used for burials before that time.  The cemetery is approximately two acres in size and well maintained.  In July 1981, the Hope Cemetery inscriptions were identified by the Warren County Genealogical Society as; I have since been to the cemetery to get corrections; updates.
