Mosher Cemetery, Monmouth Twp., Warren Co., IL

Mosher Cemetery is very easy to find. You take old 34 now 164 out of Galesburg heading to Monmouth. You go about eight miles I would say, you come to the "Eight Mile Road" going north to Alexis. You turn north and you can see the cemetery on your left. It is a very old cemetery. Was started by early settlers, then let go for many many years until the around the 1930's. It is really not known who all is actually buried here. Some stones may be missing. I have a listings we are making but have been wanting to put the tombstone photos online for quite awhile I have them from all makes and sizes. Mostly of the older part. I haven't done the new sections yet as I had been looking for the graves of William John Thomas, his first wife, Huldah Whitman Wallace, one which I have yet to find, William after ten years or more of searching I've located him but he wasn't in the state of Illinois. But one down a few more to go. The Wallace's, Whitman's, Lucas' came from Ky to Warren County, IL in the early 1830's. More later. Just glad I got this much online for now. This is the corner where my 2d great grandfather William Christopher Wallace, both of his wives, Sarah Townsend & Sadie Carrier are buried along with his grandparents behind him and some other relatives. Back Northwest corner of the cemetery.
