BUNTING, FOSTER, GARNER, JOHNSON, LUTZ posted by Dale R. Lutz on Saturday, November 9, 1996

White Co., IL Surnames: BUNTING, JOHNSON, LUTZ, Seeking info on families of Sarah (Sally?) BUNTING and related individuals. I descend from Sarah BUNTING and John M. Johnson, who was the son of Simon JOHNSON, an emmigrant from Billinghurst, Sussex, England to White Co., IL. John and Sarah's daughter, Mary S. Johnson FOSTER, was born 19 September, 1855, near Grayville, Illinois, which is adjacent to Edwards County. By about 1857, John Johnson had taken Parthania GARNER as his wife, and she bore him several children and survived him. I am assuming that Sarah BUNTING either died young, or divorced and perhaps returned to England(?). The BUNTING family in neighboring Edwards Co., IL, is known to have emmigrated from Quainton, Buckinghamshire, England, starting in 1830. Mary S. JOHNSON first married Moses(?) FOSTER, then married Lawrence LUTZ. This Lutz family later moved to Douglas Co., IL, near Arcola.
