COLUMBUS CEMETERY: Columbus Cemetery is located at SE edge of Columbus, Adams County, Illinois, NW 1/4 Section 18, Columbus Township. This is one of the older cemeteries in Adams County. * It is well maintained and has easy access. The canvassing was done by rows. Row #1 starts just inside the main gate to the right and rows continue on toward the east or back of the cemetery. The section to the left (or north) of the gate was done separately and designated North Section. Canvassed by Great River Genealogical Society, Quincy, Illinois, approx. 1974. *August 2005: The cemetery is Mowed, not well maintained and very many stones are damaged now. Many of the tombstones read below in 1974 could not be read today. Kathy also bought this book with cemetery listings in it and gave to me. There are many more in the said book and will get them online as soon as I can. Thanks & lets get something done here for this poor old cemetery. |

There are 95 tombstone photos below. Kathy has all photos named but I haven't gotten them all done here. Takes time and right now want to move onto the next cemetery. You may click on each tombstone photo in order to have it open it's own window with a bigger view. If you download tombstone photos to your computer please email us to let us know as we would like to keep track on who has what and such. It's the right thing to do.
