| HUGHES FAMILY CEMETERY-Liberty Township, Adams County,
Illinois SE 1/4 of SW 1/4, Section 22, ABANDONED. This cemetery is very
difficult to find. It is back in the middle of a field with a wooded area
just to the south. Located on 104 just east of Liberty about one mile,
then to the north in the field about a block. Only one stone remains, and
it is not known if at one time there had been more.

| BROADY FAMILY CEMETERY-Liberty Township, Adams County,
Illinois NE 1/4 of NW 1/4 Section 28. About 1/2 mile east of Liberty on Hwy
104, the first farm house on the right side of the road is where one stops.
Consent must be obtained to visit this cemetery. It lies to the
east and south of the house in the middle of a field in a clump of trees.
It is not maintained. ABANDONED. There are a few shaped stones that had no
inscriptions and also native stones marking graves.

| PEARCE CEMETERY- Liberty Township, Adams County, Illinois SE 1/4 Section 26. This cemetery may be found by taking Hwy 104 east
out of Liberty. Continue east on County Road 800N for one mile, turn right
onto County Road 2350E. It will be about one mile on the left side of the
road. There were native stones marking graves. It is quite a large
area and has not been taken care of and the fence has been trampled down.
It appears that many stones have been removed. ABANDONED.

| DURBIN (WASHINGTON GROVE) CEMETERY-McKee Township, Adams
County, Illinois SE 1/4 Section 2. This was
once a fairly large cemetery which is rapidly being destroyed. Take Hwy
104 east of Quincy to Five Points, continue east on Kellerville Black-top,
County Rolad 1200N to a point where you would intersect on County Road
2975E, turn right for about a mile. In the middle of a field, on the right
side of the road will be a couple of large stones, which is all that remains of
this once large cemetery. ABANDONED, DESTROYED.

but only one could be found. It was foun in a field along a fence.

| NOTES: R. Mayfield was Ranson Mayfield, brother of Lucinda
Mayfield Rubart. Their father was Isiriah Mayfield, the first settler
of Beverly Township. Ranson Mayfield was 17 years old in 1850.
Mary Mayfield was 7 years old in 1860. Isiriah (Azeriah) Mayfield
settled on this section of land and raised his family here. Probably more
burials than listed. |

ABANDONED & NOT MAINTAINED. Last known
burial that people can remember was in 1906, Newborn Infant of John Sparks.
No stone was placed to mark the infant's grave. There are many slabs of
concrete and native stones, but no markings left to identify if they are
burials.

| HOLT CEMETERY-Beverly Township, Adams County,
Illinois Midway east line NW 1/4, Section 36-- cemetery was destroyed by bulldozing
before present owners moved there. There were broken stones scattered
about, as they remember, mostly of children.....only name they can remember for
sure was SARAH HOLT.

| HAZEN CEMETERY-Beverly Township, Adams County, Illinois SW 1/4, Section 31--several graves in this small old cemetery, but no
monuments, only native stones at head & foot of each grave. Some bodies
originally buried here have been removed and buried elsewhere....the only name
learned:
Mrs. MINT MARLOW, d: 1925, Aged 100 years.

well-maintained cemetery, SW 1/4 Section 23, and the owners kept it fenced to
protect it from livestock. However it is now destroyed. The only
name remembered was WILLIAMS. |
